Lia is 4! Happy birthday my precious love!

I can't believe it's been 4 years! My baby is now a girl! A clever, beautiful, creative, loving, charming 4 years old girl!
4 years ago, we were having crazy long 27 hours of labor in Plymouth, MA and eventually we finally got to meet our first born princess Lia. She was screaming so much - everybody at the Jordan hospital birthing center knew who we were... The nurses said our baby is "a piece of work!"... Yes, they were right. Lia is a determined girl. She knows what she wants and in no time she'll be on her way to get it.

I love Lia so much, there are no words that can describe how much I respect her and adore her.
I am looking forward to celebrating with her all month long:) and to keep building our relationship in the years to come!

Happy 4th birthday my big girl! I love you "the most in the world"(hachi ba'olam) !!!

Reposting

I've decided to give it another try and repost again, see if the photos will show up this time.
Hopefully this will work!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Tu BiShvat!

We're celebrating Tu BiShvat tomorrow, a Jewish holiday that mentions the new year for the trees. The symbolic tree is the almond tree that every year at this time blossoms with its delicate beautiful flowers in Israel. This time last year I remember the almond trees in our neighborhood were in full bloom and I was so happy to see the almond tree near our house with its first few flowers today!

A few days ago I took a little nature walk while the girls were at school, a little something I treated my self with. It was gloomy that day. I need the sun in order to feel good, but even though it was so gray I found comfort and fascination in this interesting tree, with the sun trying so hard to show it self through the clouds and the branches.

Life is so full of surprises and even though we think we know what will happen next, we often find our selves wrong. Life has also exposed me to inspiring powerful people. Today I found out about my sister in law's friend, Bekah. Bekah is a lovely twenty three year old battling Hodgkins Lymphoma for the second time. I read her blog this morning and was shocked to find an amazing beautiful person! She touched my heart and I can't stop thinking about her and wishing her all the luck and health in the world!
This is her blog: http://truebeautyneverhurries.blogspot.com/
These next 3
photos of flowers make me think of her. She is a flower. A beautiful powerful young flower.

Yesterday we actually stepped outside to our back yard. Lia was a great helper, helping me to clean the garden a little, preparing it possibly for some new sowing/planting. We really should do something since it is Tu BiShvat.

And to celebrate the holiday properly we've been making fruit salads for dessert for several days now. On Tu BiShvat we eat lots of nuts, dried fruit and fresh ones too. These fruit salads are so yummy with all this goodness nature has to offer. MMM... YUM!

Blogger problems

There seems to be some kind of a problem here on blogger. My prior post photos have disappeared a day after I posted them. The problem is even more severe, since it's almost impossible to find a way to contact the blogger "customer service" that seems to not exist, or maybe it does and I just can't find it. Anyway, I hope someone out there will be able to help me with this.
I would post a photo, but it most likely won't show up...

Yesterday we actually stepped outside to our back yard. We found some new guests there, some huge mushrooms and this guy too.

Oh, the sun is out!
Lia amazes me with her drawing skills. This is her friend's portrait she drew and before we gave it to her as a card for her birthday, I had to take a picture of it, was having such a hard time letting go of it. I love her details in the eyes and the teeth. oh, and the blue in the frame is the sea :)

Feeling so tired and weak today. Mikey took Lia to a birthday party and I'm here at home with precious Maya. I just grabbed the camera and took some shots around the house and chose two to put up here.
I love flowers, makes me happy seeing them around the house. I used to think they're tacky, but I guess as I'm growing older I'm revealing and discovering different things about my self.
Another thing I found out about my self when I woke up so tired this morning, is that I really need MY bed to have a good night sleep. We stayed over at friends' house to watch their kids while they were out for the night, Mikey and I, both look like total zombies today!

I am not having the best mood lately. We've had, how can I say this... Crazy, hectic last two weeks! The girls have been on their break from preschool, and man these only two mornings per week that I have for my self are much much needed and appreciated by now! It's also been stormy the last few days, with this leaving the girls stuck at home with way extra energy, and me with none... The house is in chaos, laundry never ends, Mikey's been having drill this w/e so he wasn't home (on his way back now) and I am so ordering pizza tonight!

Mikey made another Challah last Thursday and this one came great! There are still a couple of things to correct, so he'll try this one recipe again and see how it comes out. The yeast worked like magic this time. Yummy!

Have a wonderful week!

Happy, healthy and full of love 2008!

Last night was the last night of 2007. It's never really a big deal to me, for some reason, the last day of the year, or the first day of the year. I never have new years resolutions, probably because all I see is people failing in accomplishing them all around me. Most days of the year I keep thinking of what I can do/make better. Most days of the year I think about goals, I have dreams, wishes, and Most days of the year I appreciate what I have in life.
This is us celebrating together last night in the living room. Lia went to the cd player and as she pushed "play" she said: I'm doing a dance party! And we did. We danced together and had a blast together, the four of us :)
Mikey and I couldn't even keep our eyes open till midnight, and went to bed before...

The challah we (Mikey) made last Thursday came out real tasty, but there was some problem with the yeast, so something wasn't right with its texture. We'll try to make another one in a couple of days and if that one comes out well, I'll post the recipe.
These last two photos are from the past w/e. This one is Saturday night, Mikey and I were being silly and it was so much fun. A little too crazy maybe, Mikey made me laugh so bad while my mother was trying to talk with me on the phone (from Israel)...
On Sunday we went to Tilden Park for a ride on the steam train. The girls love it!
They always get so excited on the train and it's so great to see them like that!
The girls are napping right now, and Mikey is home, so I'm going to take a walk.

To a great wonderful healthy 2008!!
